Bridle Opticians welcomes children by providing then with their own dedicated space.

Bridle Opticians will look after your child's eyesight

This bright and colourful area displays one of the best selections of children’s frames in the country. This makes choosing glasses a fun and engaging experience for your child, and encourages them to be wearing their spectacles

A warm welcome to the Kids.

Children absolutely love the freedom of choosing their own glasses, sports goggles and sunglasses.

Children have their teeth and health checked so why not their eyes? Eye tests are completely free up to the age of 19 (if in full time education). Parents, guardians, please help your children to get into the habit of having their eyes checked and monitored regularly. This will ensure that their education and sports training does not suffer due to lack of concentration or eye strain.

Free eye tests for children

Every child is entitled to regular free sight tests under the NHS, so there is no need to worry about the cost! If a sight test reveals that your child would benefit from wearing glasses, a voucher is also provided under the NHS which can cover most of the cost of them. Our Dispensing Opticians have a wealth of experience working with children, and will endeavour to find the best fitting frame that your child is not only happy to wear, but is also the most beneficial for them too.

Children’s glasses

At Bridle Opticians, we supply a wide range of children’s glasses displayed in their own special child-friendly section. We are experts when it comes to dealing with children’s eyes and so can help mums and dads find the perfect pair of glasses for their little one. Every one of our dispensing opticians is patient with a great sense of humour and able to cope with the most challenging of little ones! Visit our Glasses for Children page.

Children’s contact lenses

If your child is sporty or wears their spectacles all the time they might like to consider contact lenses; age is no barrier, motivation and parental support are far more important. We have children as young as five successfully wearing contact lenses. Visit our Contact Lenses for Children page.
